    Re-Design Your World

    Daryn speaks with Ian Toews the producer of “Great Minds of Design. A documentary series coming to the documentary digital channel of the CBC (Rogers channel 325 but check your local listings). The first season of Great Minds of Design will focus on such topics as sustainable design from coffee tables to skyscrapers, the environment is greatly affected based on the choices we make and how we design the things around us.

A hike-a-thon to benefit the non-profit Clearview Community Coalition and its partner, Environmental Defence, in their legal proceedings against quarrying on the Niagara Escarpment. It’s a great opportunity to discover, explore and help protect the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and Canada’s oldest footpath, the Bruce Trail. Daryn Caister will be speaking with Ruth Grier, former Ontario Environment Minister who is helping to organize the event.

  • Dr. James Hanson head of the NASA space Goddard institute and professor at Columbia University is as close to a rock star as climate scientists can get. Dr. Hanson recently did a TED talks (if you haven’t heard of TED Talks I urge you to get out from under that rock you’ve been under and check them out), where he explains a new plan he’s championing to deal with climate change and why he feels he has to talk about climate change at the determent to his professional work at NASA.
