Ideas and actions

April 5th, 2006 · No Comments

I took part last night in an online green business chat that was set up by Shea Gunther from Musings of an eco-entrepreneur and Offsetmylife.com., which is currently in beta, but you can submit your email for an update on the public unveiling in mid April. The chat was an excellent place to meet with like minded folks and a number of good ideas were kicked around.

Today in Musings Shea made an excellent point about the value of ideas versus building value into ideas. This is something that I have struggled with for quite awhile. It is far more fun and interesting coming up with great plans than actually setting to task at completing them. I would have to agree because no one has yet to call me up and say I was wondering if you happened to have an idea about X because i’ve got a bag full of money I’d like to give you.

Value added then is where it’s at.

and although it has been apparent to me for some time it has come into much greater focus. So look out for more action and more value here on the site (alright, one caveat, I have to proctor and grade three sets of exams in next week *sorry I will use no excuses!), in part due to the Green Biz Chat. Thanks again Shea for setting it up and thanks as well to the other’s who (sorry I don’t have all your links!) took part. I look forward to talking more with each of you. Maybe we can set up an audio interview for the Sounds Sustainable show. Let me know what you think?

And as for action, anyone remember the name I came up with for our “really bad idea” last night? Toss in in your address bar, hit enter and then give me a shout!
