This is a quick note for anyone in and around Toronto. The Windfall Ecology Festival will be taking place this weekend @ Fairy Lake Park in Newmarket, ON.
“The festival celebrates sustainable living… it is a gathering place for people of all ages to exchange ideas and learn new ways to walk softly upon the earth. It is also a place to take some time from busy lives and reconnect with our natural heritage which has so richly shaped Canadian culture.”
I had the opportunity to attend last year and it was a gerat outing. I met a number of people who are really dedicated to tackling environmental/sustainability issues in their communities and accross the country. The exhibitors represent a number of not-for-profit and for profit organizations that are working to bring the idea of sustainability to a larger audience.
At last year’s festival I had the opportunity to interview, Brent Kopperson, the director of the Windfall Ecology Centre, about the event and it was a part of the very first Sounds Sustainable podcast. I haven’t had much time lately to get any new podcasts out so I will repurpose a previous episode here.
Take a minute and give a listen to Sounds Sustainable episode # 1, including an interview with Brent Kopperson
