I have more than a few thoughts on the holiday season that I should probably get around to posting here in the next little while. I am working on a holiday themed segment for this weeks contribution to the Green Majority (if you haven’t listened yet you should!) and I will include it here when it’s completed. In the meantime we have a tree to decorate.
I hope it is safe to assume that everyone has caught on by now to the idea of LED lights to give your tree some energy concious sparkle. But what to do with the old bulbs? While getting caught up on some reading this morning I came accross a great article @ readymade on how to convert your old lights into new ornaments.
Sound like a good weekend DIY project, especially for those that haven’t yet made the switch to LED bulbs. Energy reduction and reuse, now that should be the true spirit of the holidays, and it looks like I am not the only one who agrees with the idea either. The Conservation Council of Ontario has just released the following PSA for the Holiday Season.
For more Green Holiday thinking check out the Treehugger, green holiday clip that ran on Oprah this week and I will be back with another post or two shortly.
